All employees in BoVi HR are required to have a role.

A role outlines the level of access each employee has to the different functions on BoVi HR.  An unlimited number of roles can be added with different access levels.  When you edit (hover over the name of the role to see the edit button) or add a new role,  it shows you the options to assign to each role

There are two categories of Permissions: Staff Apps and Company Apps

Staff Apps allow related to specific employees functions.  For example, you may want to setup a specific role which would allow staff to view and print their own pay slips.

Company Apps are employees are also perform Administrative functions in BoVi HR.  For example a role can be setup which would allow an employee, to add other employees, conduct Performance Appraisals, etc.

BoVi HR also allows certain permissions with each role to be assigned.  To illustrate, imagine that we create a roll called Employee.   Permission to "Add" or "Edit" their leave requests in BoVi HR can be assigned to that role.   A new role called "Supervisor"  can then be created and assigned the Supervisor permission. This permission will allow anyone assigned to the supervisor role to approve requests of employee. Use can also use BoVi HR to allow certain employees to approve their own leave requests. For example,  a role called "CEO" can be setup with the "Update" permission assigned to it. Anyone in the CEO role can approve their own "Leave Requests"
