What SA Component Group Does
SA Component Group helps a company control which superadmin payroll components apply to different employee types.
SA components are master payroll components configured at the platform or country level. They may include statutory deductions, employer contributions, payroll tax, NHI, Social Security, pension, or other country-specific payroll items.
The company-level SA Component Group helps decide which of those components should apply to normal employees, contract employees, or other employee categories.
When To Use SA Component Group
Use SA Component Group when:
- Normal employees and contract workers need different statutory deductions.
- A country has payroll components that should apply only to certain employee types.
- An employee group should be excluded from NHI, Social Security, pension, or payroll tax.
- Payroll is calculating statutory items that should not apply to a specific group.
Practical Example: Contractor Exempt From NHI
A contractor should not have NHI deducted because the company treats the person as a contract worker.
The administrator should:
- Confirm the contractor employee type or statutory deduction type on the employee profile.
- Review the SA Component Group for contract workers.
- Confirm NHI is not enabled for that group.
- Run Draft Review before payroll to confirm NHI is not deducted.
Practical Example: Regular Employee Statutory Setup
Regular employees should have:
- NHI
- Social Security
- Payroll Tax
- Pension
Create or review the regular employee SA Component Group and confirm those components are enabled for that group.
Common Mistakes
- Changing an employee's type but not reviewing the SA Component Group.
- Disabling a component for one group and expecting it to affect all groups.
- Forgetting to run Draft Review after changing statutory component setup.
- Confusing company Salary Components with superadmin SA Components.
