What This Workflow Does
After payslips are created, payroll administrators may need to view, print, download, or email them. These actions help payroll share pay records with employees and finance.
Depending on the screen and permissions, payslips may be available from:
- Make Payment V2
- Payslip History
- Employee profile
- Employee self-service
- Bulk payslip view
Viewing A Payslip
Open a payslip when you need to confirm:
- Employee name
- Pay period
- Gross pay
- Net pay
- Earnings
- Deductions
- Taxes
- Year-to-date totals, if using YTD format
Printing A Payslip
Print a payslip when the employee or company needs a PDF or paper copy.
Before printing, confirm:
- The correct pay period is selected.
- The payslip is final.
- The payslip logo is correct.
- YTD values appear if required.
Emailing A Payslip
Email a payslip when the company sends payslips directly from BoviHR.
Before emailing:
- Confirm the employee email address is correct.
- Confirm payroll has been approved for release.
- Confirm the payslip belongs to the correct period.
Practical Example: Email One Payslip
An employee did not receive their payslip email. Payroll opens the employee's payslip in Make Payment V2 or Payslip History, confirms the email address, and resends the payslip.
Practical Example: Bulk Print Payslips
A company wants paper payslips for all employees in one payroll run.
Payroll opens Payslip History, filters the correct period, uses bulk payslip view, and prints the group of payslips.
Common Mistakes
- Printing a draft or unapproved payslip.
- Emailing payslips before the Payroll Status allows employee visibility.
- Using the wrong period.
- Forgetting to check the logo and payslip format.
- Sending to an outdated employee email address.
